Internet Research Toolbar (IRT) is an easy-to-use toolbar-addition to Microsoft's Internet Explorer (5.0 and above), which enables anyone who uses online information to save and organize it with a single mouse click, all without leaving the browser. Internet Research Toolbar solves two problems: despite the incredible amount of information on the Web, there's no easy way to save it, nor is there a good place to put it. That is, until now.Every saved item, whether it's a full Web page, an HTML selection, or text, becomes a fully searchable record in the user's Flexity Database. Without leaving Internet Explorer, records can be searched by keyword or other pre-defined or custom criteria. Retrieved records can be browsed just as if they were on the Web. While all users will appreciate the speed and convenience of one-click saving, researchers, teachers, students and librarians will especially like IRT's annotation capabilities. Using formats (COS) based upon THE COLUMBIA GUIDE TO ONLINE STYLE, bibliographic references practically build themselves based upon the content of the Item being saved.
