SiReg - Time Series and Regression Analysis 2003-12

ETOS SiReg is a powerful tool for scientific time series and regression analysis. Additionally, it offers several tools such as a scientific script-based calculator which is freely programmable and special statistical tests. Time Series Analysis: The time series analysis functions allow to compute the auto-covariance, auto-correlation, frequency-amplitude and power-spectrum of one or two time series. If two time series are given, the cross-correlation function will be computed as well. All results can be displayed graphically by the software. Regression Analysis: Linear or non-linear regression analysis can be performed with SiReg. In contrast to most other approaches, SiReg allows to combine a standard deviation with each input value (dependent and independent variables) and thus allows to give special weight to observations of high accuracy and to weight-down observations with large uncertainty. Furthermore, SiReg offers to include several functions in one regression analysis with can be freely programmed as small scripts. As a consequence, the regression analysis module can also be used for individual least-squares adjustments (as it is conventionally called). Original observations, adjusted observations, residuals, redudancies and outlier ratios can be displayed graphically. The residuals will be prepared for further analysis, e.g. for statistical test of fitness for Gaussian distribution (test after Man & Wald). Scientific Calculator: The scientific calculator is based on the same parser algorithm that is used to process the functional equations defined by the user for regression analysis. Consequently, you can program scripts of computations using a number of pre-defined mathematical functions and constants. Outputs are displayed both in floating as well as in scientific (exponential) format.Users of the demo version are only allowed to process the data set supplied consisting of two time series files and a pre-configured linear regression analysis (whereas the ordinary version of SiReg can also handle non-linear problems). Use of the demonstration with data other than those supplied is strictly prohibited.
