Description :

VM Automation System is a low cost, high scalable, distributed and IP enabled automation system with functions of data acquisition, data logging, real time monitoring and control. The system could be a standalone computer with size as small as a credit card or could be a large system across world connected by internet. A typical such system is usually composed of a Database/Web server, controllers and they are connected to a switch hub with TCP/IP protocol. Clients can access any controller through the Web server. The Web server in one way works like a router to exchange data between clients and controllers.A controller is a x86 based computer with Ethernet interface and I/O (Analog and digital) interface. It works under a DOS operating system. No keyboard, no mouse, no monitor, no hard disk, only Ethernet connection is needed. This makes the controller very robust. On the other hand the controller cost could be very low because of wide range of hardware selection such as 8086, 80286 or 80386 based single board computer. In addition to DOS, we can also select XP Embedded as the operating system so as to make the controller have more functions powered by Windows. On the client side, you do not need to install any software. What you need is just the Internet Explorer and a secure logon. Once you have logged on the system, you can immediately real time monitor and control any I/O point connected to the controller. If the Server is connected to the internet, you can monitor and control your system in any where and any time. The zero installation on client side makes the system maintenance and upgrade much more easier. On the DOS Controller side, you can free download and use Turbo C++ 1.01 ( http://bdn.borland.com/museum/ ) as the software developing tool. You can also use any MS-DOS compatible operating system for the controller. There are many such systems which are fully free. FreeDOS ( http://www.freedos.org ) is just one of the free MS-DOS compatible operating system. On the Server side, you can free download and use Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 as the software developing tool. You can use the popular language Visual Basic, or new language C# or traditional language C++.What ever tools (Turbo C++ 1.01 or Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1) you work with, we will provide plenty various functional components such as Network Communication, Database Accessing, Alarm, Data Logging, PID Control, Digital Logic Control etc. You can fide out a lot source code in the application level. We also provide plenty client side Html user interface. All of this will make the applications development much more easier. The structure of the VM Automation System is highly opened on both hardware and software. You can easy add on your own special functions or even make a highly customized system. What we focus is to real time link your I/O points (Sensors or actuators), database and Internet Explorer together whatever your system is small, large or distributed so as to make you any where any time monitoring and controlling your system.
